Historically, the FAFSA has been available beginning October 1 each year. However, given the unprecedented complexity of creating the new form due to significant changes to the FAFSA application and the rebuild of the FAFSA processing system, the 2024-25 FAFSA will not be available until sometime in December 2023.
The FAFSA form will return to October 1 for the 2025–26 award year
